The Highland Council have prepared a West Highland and Islands Local Plan (WHILP). This will replace the Skye & Lochalsh Local Plan, the Lochaber Local Plan and a small part of the Badenoch & Strathspey Local Plan (west of Kinlochlaggan).

A Pre-Deposit Draft is the current stage because the Scottish Government urged the Council to re-consult on its assessment of the environmental effects of the West Highland and Islands Local Plan.
