Beauly to Denny 400kV Overhead Transmission Line Public Inquiry

A Public Inquiry is being held into the application by Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Ltd and Scottish Power Transmission Ltd for a 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line between Beauly and Denny, and for the associated dismantling of the existing 132 kV Overhead Transmission Line.

The Inquiry will commence on 6th February 2007 with a consideration of the strategic issues (e.g. need, alternatives, health, EIA methodologies) and will continue after this with a series of four local sessions to consider the route-specific issues in Highland up to the Cairngorms National Park boundary, then within the Cairngorms National Park, then within the Perth and Kinross Council area, and finally within the Stirling and Falkirk Council areas.

It is anticipated that the Inquiry will conclude in December 2007.

Statements of Case and Precognitions need to be prepared in advance by parties giving evidence at the Inquiry.  Those submitted by The Highland Council will be found on this page.  Other Statements of Case and Precognitions will be found on the Inquiry Website.
