Uig is situated on Skye’s North Coast on the shores of Loch Snizort. The approaches are clear with no outlying dangers, the cliffs of Scuidburgh to the north side of the Harbour offer an excellent radar target.
Uig is the main ferry terminal for the Uists and Harris. Details of sailing times can be found on Cal-Mac’s website.
Main fish landings at Uig include prawns (nethrops), brown crabs, scallops and a quantity of farmed salmon. Visiting yachts can get a good anchorage to the North of the pier and gain access to the landing steps.
