Public Transport
The Highland Council's Public Transport Section is responsible for:
- Designing and awarding contracts for socially necessary bus services
- Development of unconventional services such as dial-a-buses and subsidised taxis
- Promoting co-ordination between transport services where possible
- Bus shelters and bus stop infrastructure
- Co-ordinated timetable information
- Concessionary fares for elderly or disabled people

The Highland Council produces a free Public Transport Map for the Highlands and Islands including Orkney and Shetland. The Map can be accessed by clicking the following link: Public Transport Map (pdf 3MB) and Public Transport Map Cover (pdf 800KB)
