Scotland Wide Free Travel Scheme for Older (over 60), Disabled and Young persons
- Holders of the Older or Disabled Persons travel entitlement will receive Free travel on buses throughout Scotland and in addition, residents of Highland will enjoy half fare travel on train journeys within Highland.
- Holders of the Scotlandwide Blind Scheme card and their companions can travel free on train journeys wholly within Highland. The card holder can also travel free, with companions paying 50p for single or £1.00 for return fares, on journeys which terminate in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. This does not allow the use of intermediate stops except where a change of train is necessary.
- Free travel is also available on ferry journeys wholly within Highland and at half fare as a foot passenger on the Craignure to Oban service.
- Young Persons will receive 1/3rd off the single adult bus fare, a railcard valid throughout Scotland, allowing a discount of up to 1/3rd on train travel and 2 return ferry vouchers to the mainland for island residents.

Renewal of cards
- If you are over 60 a new card will be set to you shortly before the expiry date of your current card.
- If you received your card on the grounds of disability then you should take proof of your continuing entitlement to a service point no more than 4 weeks before your current cards expires and it can be renewed.
