Public Transport Consultation Timetables

All of the Council’s bus, dial-a-bus and subsidised taxi contracts, and one ferry contract, are due to expire on 31 December 2011. Retendering will take place this spring, with the key dates being:

  • 3 March - Tenders advertised
  • 18 April - Tender return date
  • 11 August - TEC Services Committee decides on awards of contract

We are consulting on the draft timetables before issuing our invitations to tender.

For many of the contracts there are various timetable options. We will invite tenders for various options so that the costs of them can be compared and a value for money judgment made.

In all cases, the contract number with the suffix -0 (e.g. Contract 100-0) is the current version. (A few contracts have no current version and therefore the version numbers begin with the suffix -1.)

As you will be aware, the Council’s budget is coming under increasing pressure, and many of the options are designed with the aim of reducing costs. It is also likely that several contracts will not be awarded in any form. However, you may still wish to suggest enhancements, and we will consider these where we believe they can be provided cost-effectively. In a few cases we have included options for enhancements which have already been suggested by communities.

  • Here is a table showing all contracts, along with passenger numbers in the past year as supplied by the contractors, and comments on the contracts where necessary. Contract list for CCs (208kb doc)

Please also find below the various timetables for each area.

This consultation is now closed, the deadline for responses was 21 February.
