Green Ambassador Resources:
A series of posters have been produced by the Highland Council graphics team to help Green Ambassadors encourage colleagues to become more environmentally friendly. The posters are colour coded - Green for Energy; Red for Travel and Blue for Waste and are available in Gaelic and English. Click on the link to the right to download a poster for printing.
Short messages or "top tips" can also be printed onto labels that can be fixed in prominent places within the office.

A carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted into the atmosphere and is measured in tonnes. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming by absorbing infrared radiation from the sun. Levels of CO2 in the atmosphere are increasing as a result of human activity, in particular, the burning of fossil fuels. The buildings we live in, the energy we use and the vehicles we drive all result in carbon emissions. In the UK the average carbon footprint is 10.92 tonnes. To calculate your carbon footprint visit the Scottish Government's ActonCo2 website http://carboncalculator.direct.gov.uk/index.html.
