In April 2008 the Highland Council's TEC Services Committee agreed to invest £1.662M to expand the current kerbside collection scheme to areas that do not currently have materials for recycling collected from their usual collection point.
Five additional refuse collection vehicles and 13 staff will provide a 4 weekly collection of dry recyclable materials. Householders will be provided with an additional wheeled bin that will be used to collect paper, cardboard, plastic bottles along with food tins and drinks cans.
