Recycling and Composting

Thanks to the efforts of people living in Highland the Council has made a massive improvement on the recycling front over the last few years. The rolling recycling rate for Highland to Dec 2007 was just over 30% (SEPA).

There are now over 200 Recycling Points scattered throughout the area along with 21 Recycling Centres. The Council also currently provide a kerbside recycling service to just over 70% of households throughout Highland.

However there are also a number of simple steps, including home composting, that everyone can take to help Reduce Reuse and Recycle our waste.
