Taxi Drivers Knowledge Tests
Please note that if you are applying for a new taxi drivers licence, due to current Covid-19 restrictions, The Highland Council, as licensing authority, is unable to undertake taxi knowledge tests at this time. If you do still intend to apply for the grant of a new taxi driver's licence, please be aware that there will be a delay in processing your application until such time as the Covid-19 restrictions are eased. If you have a pending application and still need to sit your taxi knowledge test, you will be contacted in due course.

Applications for licence
We are asking customers to only submit essential applications or paperwork which should be done either using the on-line facility on the relevant pages of the Council's website or by scanning application forms, documents etc. and e-mailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.

- MOT certificate
Surcharges for card payments
Following a change to the law, as from 13 January 2018 taxi/ PHC operators/drivers will no longer be permitted to charge an additional fee to those customers who wish to pay by credit or debit card.
