Location: Highland Council County Buildings, 84 High Street Dingwall IV15 9QN

  • Sessions will start on Monday, 19 April 2021 (Opening of Postal ballot packs, Envelope B’s only to prepare for scanning – no ballot paper envelopes opened until 26 April).

Briefing Session

Post-nomination virtual briefings will be held after the close of nominations on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 6 April 2021 at 11am for Regional Candidates and Election Agents 
  • Wednesday 7 April 2021 at 11am for Constituency Candidates and Election Agents

A further detailed briefing will be provided on Thursday 29 April at 10 am and will focus on the poll and the count and will provide information on the measures that have been put in place to ensure that our venues are safe places for all stakeholders involved during the coronavirus pandemic.

Scrutiny at SPE21 Count

To register your attendance online please email and specify which session you will be attending.

The Electoral Commission provide guidance and resources for candidates and their agents for the Scottish Parliamentary election.

Nominations will be accepted by the Constituency/Regional Returning Officer between 10am and 4pm on any working day from Tuesday 16 March 2021. Due to Coronavirus restrictions, candidates are asked to email beforehand to make an appointment for the delivery of nomination packs.

The deadline for submission of nomination papers is 4pm on Wednesday 31 March 2021

Financial assistance for disabled people running in the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary Election

The Access to Elected Office Fund offers financial assistance to disabled people running in the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary election and in any by-elections for Local Authority and Scottish Parliament seats. The fund is delivered by Inclusion Scotland and supported by the Scottish Government.
