W. W. Martin & Son have been awarded LEADER funding for a project to install new machinery, expand storage space and create a new automatic vending “Spud Hut” on their farm. The facility, which will replace the current service based on an honesty box, will be used to sell the farm’s potatoes, as well as vegetables and eggs from neighbouring farms. This project will reduce losses and improve the overall efficiency of the business, generating the potential to create more jobs on the farm and with its suppliers.
