Your Community, Your Cash – Dingwall and Seaforth Decides

Groups based in Dingwall and Seaforth will come together in Dingwall Academy on Saturday 11 March to present their ideas to the public in hope of receiving a grant of between £100 and £2,000.

The call for groups to come up with ideas on how to make their local area better has received a great response and on the 11 March at the Your Community, Your Cash – Dingwall and Seaforth Decides event in Dingwall Academy.  25 groups will have the opportunity to tell everyone about their project and how it can make a difference to our community.

Doors will open at 9:30 for a 10:00am start. Each applicant will be given a 2-minute presentation slot and then answer any questions.  Organisations will highlight how their project will improve the local community. All attendees will then be asked to vote to determine which projects are funded.

Dingwall and Seaforth Councillors Graham Mackenzie, Alister Mackinnon, Angela MacLean and Margaret Paterson are looking forward to the event.  They said: “We would encourage as many people as possible to come along on Saturday.  Participatory budgeting offers opportunities for people across a diverse range of groups to engage in discussions about what matters to them and gives local people the opportunity to decide where public money is spent in their communities.”

“The event is more than just a way of distributing funding and we hope that it will be an opportunity for the whole community to come together.”

Any member of the community who wishes to vote must register between 9:30 and 10 am and remain for the whole event. To be eligible to vote you must live in the Dingwall and Seaforth area and be 12 or over.
