Proposal to establish a Gaelic Medium catchment area for Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar

The Highland Council is to seek the views of local communities on a proposal to establish a Gaelic Medium catchment area for Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar.  

The change is being proposed in line with Statutory Guidance on Gaelic Medium Education.   

Members of the Council’s People Committee have today (25 January 2018) agreed to undertake a public consultation on the proposal.  

The consultation will take place under procedures set down in The Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010.  

The views of parents, the local community and others will be sought over a period extending from 29 January to 16 March 2018.  

A public meeting will be held in Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar on 27 February 2018.
