Your Cash, Your Choice! Aird and Loch Ness, it’s your chance to have your say

Participatory budgeting is coming back to Aird and Loch Ness!  ‘PB’ is a process that lets the local community decide for themselves which community projects are needed in their area and involves locals in ensuring public money is well spent. Given the success of previous PB events in Aird and Loch Ness, the local Councillors have set aside £10,000 of grant funding from the Ward Discretionary Budget top hold another event on Saturday October 13th 2018.

The fund is open to any local community, voluntary or non-profit organisations based in Aird and Loch Ness.  Projects can be large or small, add value to existing projects or be something completely new.

Grants can be applied for from £100 to £500 and you must submit your application before 5pm on Monday October 1st 2018.  If your idea fits, the community will get to vote for the best ideas at an event to be held on Saturday 13th October 2018 at the Craigmonie Centre, Drumnadrochit from 10.30am (doors open at 9.30am).

At the event you will be required to present your idea to the community. The event is open to all, and individuals who would like to help decide are invited to come along and vote for their favourite projects.  Those in attendance vote on all the applications and decisions are made on the day.

Application forms can be found on the Highland Council website  and from the Craigmonie Centre website www.craigmoniecentre.co.uk/

If you require assistance with the application form or need any further information, contact policy6@highland.gov.uk or contact the Craigmonie Centre on 01463 459 224.
