Councillor Alan Henderson, Chair of the Council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee said: “Annette’s achievement is incredible and it is fantastic that she was able to represent the quality of Highland school meals. The fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit used in her dish were grown by pupils from Broadford Primary school which also demonstrates how the whole school has embraced the wider curriculum in their pupils’ education.”

Annette said: “It was a huge honour to represent Broadford Primary school and The Highland Council at this fantastic event which was very exciting. I am very proud to bring home this prize to Skye and the Highlands which represent the very heart of what our school meals are all about in The Highland Council.”

Annette consulted with Primary 6 and 7 pupils in Broadford Primary School before the competition to ask what they would prefer her to cook. The pupils supported the choice of menu and passion that Annette showed for her profession clearly shone through to the judging panel.
