Children and staff all safe and well following fire at Park Primary, Invergordon

The Highland Council is working closely with emergency services after a fire at Park Primary in Invergordon resulted in the evacuation of staff and pupils.

The fire was reported to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 10am this morning. All children and staff have been safely evacuated and have been taken to Invergordon Academy School.

Everyone is accounted for and are safe and well. There are 186 children enrolled at the school.

Parents are being asked to collect their children from Invergordon Academy. 

The extent of damage to the primary school building and the source of the fire is not yet confirmed. This appears to be an isolated incident and will be subject to a full fire investigation by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

As the extent of the damage is not yet known further details about potential temporary school accommodation will be issued to parents in due course.
