Seachdain Sgeama-cluiche Samhraidh Gàidhlig aig Stramash sa Ghearasdan

Stramash summer week

Chaidh sgeama-cluiche tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig, a bha air a chur air dòigh ann an com-pàirteachas eadar Sgioba Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd agus Sgoil-àraich Stramash, a chumail anns a’ Ghearasdan.

Bha òigridh le Gàidhlig ag obair air an sgeama-chluiche a bha na phàirt de dhìleab sgeama ath-shlànachaidh COVID-19 Samhradh an Dòchais a chaidh a chumail an-uiridh.

Thuirt an Comhairliche Calum Rothach, Cathraiche Comataidh na Gàidhlig, “Tha sgeama-cluiche Gàidhlig an t-samhraidh air cothrom sgoinneil a chruthachadh do dhaoine òga agus cothrom aca ceangal a thogail leis an àrainneachd nàdarra fhad ’s a tha iad a’ cleachdadh agus ag ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig.”

Air sgàth deagh cho-obrachadh eadar Sgioba Gàidhlig na Comhairle agus Stramash, chaidh àrainneachd Ghàidhlig a chruthachadh agus chòrd e glan ris a’ chloinn a bhith a’ cleasachd am measg nan 50 acaire anns a bheil coille, craobhan-mheas, tunailean le lusan, agus yurt anns am b’ urrainn dhaibh fasgadh is fealla-dhà fhaighinn le sgeulachdan is òrain Ghàidhlig.

B’ e amas an sgeama-chluiche dèanamh cinnteach gun robh an cothrom aig a’ chloinn cluiche a-muigh sa Ghàidhlig, tlachd fhaighinn às an àrainneachd nàdarra agus aire a thogail mun t-saoghal nàdarra ionadail aca fhèin tro chluiche.

Ghabh 26 leanabh eadar Clas 1 gu Clas 3 ann am Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar com-pàirt.

Thuirt Lyn Neilson, a tha na pàrant: “B’ e tachartas sgoinneil a bha seo dhan chloinn tro na saor-làithean. Chòrd e glan ris an nighinn agam agus bha sgeulachd ùr aice a’ tighinn dhachaigh gach latha.” Lean i air adhart: “Chòrd e sònraichte math rithe a bhith a’ cluiche nan geamaichean agus a’ cluiche sa choille. Chòrd e glan ris a’ chloinn a bhith a’ tadhal air peata coineanaich air an robh Apple agus na h-iseanan beaga fhaicinn cuideachd.”

Gaelic Summer Playscheme Week held at Stramash Fort William

A weeklong outdoor Gaelic medium playscheme, organised in partnership between the Highland Council Gaelic Team and Stramash outdoor nursery, took place in Fort William.

The playscheme was staffed by young Gaelic speakers and is a legacy from the Summer of Hope COVID-19 recovery scheme which took place last year.

Councillor Calum Munro, Chair of the Gaelic Committee said, “The Summer Gaelic Playscheme has created a huge opportunity for young people to engage with the natural environment whilst using and learning Gaelic”.

Due to a positive collaborative partnership between the Council’s Gaelic Team and  Stramash, a Gaelic medium environment was created for the children to enjoy the fabulous 50-acre site which includes woodland, fruit trees, polytunnels with crops, along with a yurt to have fun, shelter and enjoy both Gaelic stories and song.

The focus of the Gaelic Playscheme was to ensure that the children had the opportunity to be active outdoors, enjoy the natural environment whilst raising awareness and enjoying local nature through play.

26 children in the P1 to P3 age group took part, all of whom attend Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar.

Lyn Neilson, a parent said, “It was a great Gaelic experience for the kids to enjoy during the holidays. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it and every day she came back with a new story”. She added, “She particularly liked playing games and playing in the woods, the children also loved visiting the pet rabbit called Apple and the baby chicks.”
