Return of Faith, Hope and Charity Statues

Greeninverness and The Highland Council are preparing to carry out a city-wide community engagement exercise.  They hope to encourage people to give their opinion on which option they feel is most suitable for the much anticipated return of the Faith, Hope and Charity statues. A report detailing the realistic options was presented to the City Committee and five short listed options have been identified.  These five options are:

There is now an opportunity for everyone to comment on the five options and rank them in order of preference.  You can complete a form at reception in the Town House, High Street, Inverness or in addition to this you can download a copy of the options form from the greeninverness website http://www.greeninverness.com/ and return to the Town House.

Provost Bob Wynd, Chairman of The Highland Council’s Inverness City Committee said: “The results of the public engagement will inform the City Committee’s final decision as to where to place the statues.  I hope these iconic statues can be placed somewhere which reflects the desires of local people and I would encourage everybody to let us know their views.”

Debbie Maguire the greeninverness officer said: “We really want to reach as wide an audience as possible and hope that the options we have identified will provide a variety of sites.  In choosing the sites we had to consider a number of issues such as the most appropriate way to view the statues, cost of installation, insurance and potential for vandalism.”

The public engagement period will run for six weeks with the final decision announced on 1st May 2008.
