Help is at hand for Caithness businesses to supply The Highland Council

A free event aimed at helping businesses to supply The Highland Council will take place on Thursday 9 February in Thurso.

Members of the Council’s Procurement team will be on hand to provide free information and advice to help businesses through the processes of tendering for Council contracts.

Caithness-based businesses which already supply, or wish to supply to the Council are encouraged to come along to talk individually to Procurement staff.

Participants will be able to find out about upcoming contract opportunities from £5,000 to £5,000,000, discuss how the tendering process works, and discuss any concerns they might have. Potential subjects up for discussion could include, for example, advertising of contracts; filling in pre-qualification questionnaires; invitations to tender or evaluation of tenders.

Staff from the Council’s Procurement team will be basing themselves in the t3ǀUK premises, Main Building, t3ǀUK Campus, Janetstown, Industrial Estate, Thurso for the morning of 9 February. Businesses can book a 15 minute slot with a member of staff between 9:30 and 11:45am on 9 February by telephoning 01463 703887 or emailing procurement.unit2@highland.gov.uk or can just drop in when convenient.

Also on the same day and in the same location Caithness Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free event to help businesses learn more about contracting with the public sector. This event starts at 12:30pm. To book a place, contact Marcus Mennie on tel: 01847 896508 or email: info@caithnesschamber.com
