Social Media workshops in Fortrose and Aviemore for Local Food and Drink Businesses

Places are now available to be booked on the next two in a series of workshops, specifically for anyone working in the local food and drink business, to highlight how social media can be best used  to increase profit, support other local businesses and promote the area.

The free workshops take place in the Eilean Dubh Restaurant, Fortrose on Tuesday 10 March and the Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore on Thursday 12 March, and will run from 11am to 3pm. They follow on from the successful events that have already taken place in Skye and Wick and with this week’s workshop in Inverness and next week’s workshop in Fort William, businesses fully booked, businesses are being encouraged to book their places now.

The morning sessions will look at how to improve the financial performance of your business using local produce. Simple spread-sheets will be used to plan and compare menus and investigate the impact of cooking with locally sourced ingredients on costs and profits.

After lunch, Rene Looper of Tuminds Social Media will guide delegates through the process of minimising time spent on social media whilst getting maximum benefit from it.

Councillor George Farlow, Vice Chair of The Highland Council’s Planning, Development and Infrastructure Committee and a keen promoter of the local food and drink sector said: “These Lunch and Learn sessions have proved to be very popular with local businesses. They are ideal for people who are aware of or may well use Facebook and Twitter for their business but are not quite sure how to connect with potential customers or how to boost sales from social media. They feature relevant case studies of food and drink businesses and have been designed to give people coming along more knowledge and confidence.

The event due to take place in Torridon, Wester Ross on 19 March is already fully booked, so I really encourage anyone interested in the Aviemore and Fortrose workshops next month to get their places booked as soon as possible.

Places for both the Fortrose and the Aviemore workshops can be booked now by telephoning 07927055397.
