Smithton & Culloden Flood Alleviation Scheme – Phase 4 Ground Investigation

Works start on Monday (19 October) on Phase 4 Ground Investigation for the Flood Protection Scheme in Smithton and Culloden, Inverness.

The Highland Council is pleased to announce that Causeway Geotech Ltd was awarded the contract to carry out the investigation works which will provide valuable ground condition information for the detailed design of the flood protection measures.

The works will take approximately 3 weeks to complete and include investigations at sites behind the former nursing home at Murray Road; at Smithton (Metal) Park; at Culloden Park; and between Redburn Avenue and Loch Lann Court.

Detailed design of Phase 4 of the Flood Protection Scheme for Smithton and Culloden is on-going. A public consultation on the proposals for the Flood Protection Scheme is expected in the New Year.
