Review of proposal to discontinue provision of education at Dalwhinnie Primary School

The Highland Council has published the Final Consultation Report into its proposal to discontinue the provision of education at Dalwhinnie Primary School (currently mothballed), reassigning its catchment area to that of Newtonmore Primary.

The original consultation on the proposal ran from 1 February to 18 March 2016 and attracted a range of responses from parents, pupils, residents and other interested parties.

The Final Consultation Report is due to be submitted to the Council’s Education, Children and Adult Services Committee on 25 August 2016.

Between 3 and 24 August 2016, members of the public are invited to provide comments which will be tabled at the Education, Children and Adult Services Committee meeting. This will allow Elected Members to take into account any further representations in relation to the recommendations contained within the Consultation Report before agreeing a decision.

The Final Report and associated papers can be viewed on the Council’s website at: http://www.highland.gov.uk/info/893/schools_-_general_information/24/school_consultations

Paper copies are also available for inspection at Aviemore Public Library.
