The Resources and Finance Service provides strategic leadership for all aspects of financial management within the Council, including accountancy and financial governance, revenue and capital budgets, and our core revenues streams: Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and Service Income.

These responsibilities extend to the provision of our payroll and pensions services, treasury management, taxation and corporate insurance. Provision of essential welfare services includes ensuring our citizens’ incomes are maximised with a focus on alleviating financial insecurities.

Our Shared Business Support services provide administrative support for the Council and for our Executive Leadership Team.

The Service leads human resource management which includes training and development, wellbeing, workforce planning and health and safety advice.

Strategic and operational delivery of Information Technology and Communications across the Council’s office and educational estate enables the Council to transact, to transform and to support the delivery the Council’s diverse range of services for our citizens, pupils, businesses, and the third sector.
