Awards for young people

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is more than just an outdoor expedition and has other sections in volunteering in the community, personal skills and physical activity. These all aim to provide an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development. There are 3 award levels Bronze (14 -25 year olds), Silver (15-25) and Gold (16-25).

Youth Achievement Award

The Youth Achievement Awards are made up of Dynamic Youth Awards for 10 - 14 year olds and for aged 14 and over Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards. The award recognises young people's contributions in a variety of settings including youth work, volunteering, active citizenships and formal education. John Muir Award

The John Muir award is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places. The 3 levels of award that are available are discovery, explorer and conserver. For more information, visit the John Muir Award website.

Saltire Awards

Saltire Awards are aimed at 12-25 year olds and recognise your efforts in volunteering. Young Scot reward points and certificates are awarded when you reach a set number of volunteering hours. For more information, visit the Saltire Awards website.
