Agenda: Read the Agenda

A Special Meeting of the Highland Council will commence with a Site Visit by coach from Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness at 9.00 am on Friday 9 September 2016.  For the avoidance of doubt, the Site Visit relates to both applications and must be attended if a Member wishes to take part in the determination of both/either application.  The applications will then be determined at a special meeting of The Highland Council at Glenurquhart Road, Inverness on Friday, 9 September  2016 at 1.00 pm (or at the conclusion of the site visit if later).

Webcast Notice: This meeting will be filmed and broadcast over the Internet on the Highland Council website and will be archived and available for viewing for 12 months thereafter.

Members are reminded that during determination of any item they must be present throughout the whole of that item in order to be entitled to participate.

Members are further reminded that mobile devices, including mobile phones, can be used for following the agenda/reports and delivering speeches but should not be used for any form of communication (text or tweet) during the site visit and meeting.

You are invited to attend the meeting and a note of the business to be considered is attached.  Members are respectfully reminded to wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the sites and weather conditions.

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHET) PLC. (16/00769/FUL) (HC/40/16)
Location: Land 900m NW of Asgard, Garbole, Tomatin (Ward 20 – Inverness South)
Nature of Development: Development of a 275kv / 132kv substation by Garbole (Tomatin).
Recommendation: Grant Planning Permission

This item is subject to a pre-determination hearing.  A copy of the Council’s Planning Applications Hearing Procedure is appended.

3.2
Applicant: Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHET) PLC. (15/04112/S37) (HC/41/16)
Location: Between Knocknagael Substation (by Inverness) and the proposed new substation by Garbole (by Tomatin) (Ward 20 – Inverness South)
Nature of Development: Construction of a 275kv grid transmission line between the Knocknagael Substation (by Inverness) and the proposed new substation by Garbole (by Tomatin).
Recommendation: Raise No Objection
