North Kessock locals urged to report school vandals

Vandals have hit North Kessock Primary School for a third time in as many recent months. The Highland Council is urging people in the local community to report the culprits to Northern Contabulary or Crimestoppers.

The latest incident occurred sometime last night (Wednesday 29 September) when most of the damage was targeted at the school’s gardening displays and equipment.

Head Teacher, Rebecca Robinson said: “The school attained its Eco Flag status in May and the flag has only been flying in the school grounds for the past two weeks. Part of the our Eco Flag status was attained through the hard work that the pupils and school community have put into making the school grounds look attractive. It is extremely disappointing that some mindless people see fit to destroy our pupils’ achievements.”

Depute Leader of The Highland Council, Councillor David Alston for the Black Isle Ward added: “It’s very sad to see such senseless destruction. Someone somewhere must know something about who is responsible for this. I would urge anyone with information to contact their local Police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
