Overview

Alexandra Thomson was awarded LEADER funding for a project to install three luxury glamping pods, or “shepherd’s huts”, in land adjacent to her existing business at Aiden House B&B in Durness. The huts will provide an additional revenue stream for the business, enabling Alexandra’s husband Kenny to work fulltime alongside her in the business, as well as creating additional local employment. The project will benefit tourists by providing a greater choice of accommodation, with the local economy also set to benefit from additional visitors and their associated local spend.
