Overview

Caithness Voluntary Group were awarded LEADER funding towards the purchase of a 16-seat wheelchair adapted vehicle which will allow a volunteer trainer with the appropriate qualification to train drivers to D1 standard; allowing them to help community groups who want to hire a minibus in the area. The project will also fund the purchase of an Electric Wheelchair Adapted vehicle, which will be used in Caithness to tie in with the increasing number of accessible electric charging points, expanding the provision of affordable community transport in this rural area whilst also reducing its carbon footprint.
