Overview

LEADER funded was granted to the Flow Country World Heritage Site Working Group, who are in the process of applying to make the peatlands a UNESCO world heritage site. The funds will be used for a knowledge exchange trip to the Finnish World Heritage sites of Old Rauma and Sammallahdenmäki. The project aims to share best practice in communicating the value of World Heritage Site status and to introduce a diverse group of delegates from Caithness and Sutherland to the opportunities and costs of living and working in a World Heritage Site.
