People and relationship management

Our Human Resources (HR) Assistants and HR Business Partners help Line Managers with HR operational activities such as grievance and disciplinary cases, employee performance management, attendance management and advice on the interpretation and consistent implementation of terms and conditions of employment. A dedicated email allows all HR queries to be logged and assessed to guarantee a quick response.

Organisational Development

Our Policy and Systems team analyses and shares guidance on emerging employment legislation, case law and best practice, tailored to the needs of the Highland Council, and incorporates this in up to date HR policies and procedures. The team develops and owns HR data systems which enable them to provide accurate and relevant management information and reports. It is also responsible for monitoring and reviewing the Council’s pay and grading structure and terms and conditions to ensure that the Highland Council will continue to be a fair and attractive employer for present and future employees.
