Age restricted sales

It is illegal for age restricted goods, such as cigarettes and fireworks, to be sold to those who are below the specified age limit. A trader could face a fine and be prosecuted for making an illegal sale.

Contact us if you would like to report someone selling age restricted goods to young people.

As well as investigating complaints about the illegal sale of age restricted products, we also carry out test purchasing.

If you are 16 or 17 years old and your parent or guardian would be happy for you to get involved with this, we will pay any expenses and provide refreshments. Travel to and from home will be taken care of and you can even put the experience on your CV.
