Make a nomination for the Staff Recognition Awards 2026
We are delighted to open nominations for our Staff Recognition Awards 2026, celebrating the excellence, dedication and achievements of individuals, teams and projects that make a positive difference across Highland communities every day.
With a workforce of more than 10,000 people, the Council provides a range of vital public services that support people, families, businesses, and communities across the Highlands.
Nomination categories
Members of the public, local community groups, and partners are invited to nominate Highland Council staff, teams or project for the following categories.
Working in partnership
This award recognises individuals, teams or projects that have demonstrated outstanding collaboration to deliver better outcomes for people and communities. Partnerships may be internal, across services, or involve communities, organisations and partners from the public, private or third sectors.
Tackling inequalities and strengthening communities
This award recognises individuals, teams or projects that have made a meaningful contribution to reducing inequalities, addressing local challenges, or strengthening communities.
Going the extra mile
This award recognises an individual, team or group that has gone above and beyond expectations to make a positive difference. We are looking for examples of exceptional commitment, outstanding service or extraordinary effort, resulting in actions which have had a significant impact on people, communities or council services.
Unlocking potential
This award recognises an individual or team that has enabled others to grow, develop and achieve positive change. This could include an individual who supports children or young people to build confidence, develop skills, overcome barriers or realise opportunities.
The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 2 October 2026.
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 3 December 2026.
