Privacy notices - School transport; school transport for pupils with additional support needs

The Highland Council will collects your personal data in order to process your application for school transport.  The information will include:

• Your personal information (such as your name and address)
• Your child's personal information (such as their name, address, date of birth and their photo that is provided with their application)
• Special category information (Education Health and Care Plan status and detail of any Additional Support for Learning (ASL) Needs )
• Details about your household income, where parents apply for low income assessment

We will not be able to process your school transport request.

The legal basis for processing the data is our public task and statutory requirement to provide a bus service for mainstream entitled children and children with ASL Needs.

We share details with Highland Council Finance Officers for the payment of Parental Contracts (mileage payments).
We may share your information with partner organisations, including:

• Transport teams within Highland Council
• Commissioned providers of transport services
• Other schools and educations providers

We will only keep your information for the minimum period necessary. The information outlined in this privacy notice will be kept for 5 years following the date of last use. All information will be held securely and destroyed under confidential conditions.

Your personal information is not subject to automated decision making or profiling.
