Important information
You can now donate working electrical items for re-use at Nairn Recycling Centre.
If you have old, unused and unwanted electrical items that are still in good working order, pass them on for re-use in the new container. Before donating smart devices, make them safe by following these steps:
1. Back up your data - save your photos, contacts or documents in the cloud, to a personal computer or external backup drive.
2. Delete data - wipe any personal data, then remove SIM or memory cards.
3. Reset device - log out of any accounts & reset the device to factory settings.Upholstered furniture
The following items must go in a separate container. Please follow signage and site staff instructions. Please do not break this furniture up.
- Settees, sofas, sofa beds.
- Armchairs, including electric reclining chairs, home office chairs and upholstered kitchen and dining chairs.
- Futons, pouffes, upholstered stools and footstools.
- Beanbags, floor and sofa cushions.

Booking system
A booking system is now in place for vans and trailers. DIY waste cannot be taken to the HWRC in trailers or vans. If you are using a van or hiring a van, please ensure it is under 3.5T maximum gross weight before making your booking.
