School description
Portree Primary School is a very busy, lively and stimulating place and everything that happens at the school supports the school’s core ethos, “Achievement for All”. The school actively promotes partnership and close working with both the parent body, the wider community and the business community and this close working is supported by an active School Board and Parent Teacher Association. The school provides many extra-curricular activities which are supported by staff, parents and community members, and the school takes part in many local, national and even international visits, activities and competitions. There are presently 6 mainstream classes in the school made up of 6 classes in the English Medium Department. The school also houses a Special Needs Base called, The Sunshine Room. Many pupils with general learning difficulties and other support needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties are taught in mainstream classes and are supported by all staff including Learning Support Teachers and Pupil Support Assistants
