Additional pontoons were opened at the West End Car Park in August 2022. Fort William Marina & Shoreline Company have independently commissioned consultants to examine potential options for the development of expanded marina facilities on the waterfront.
It is envisaged that this study will take around four months to complete. In addition, the Shoreline Company are looking in to the feasibility of locating a portable toilet unit in the West End Car Park, for additional provision to meet the needs of cruise ship passengers.
A longer term aspiration is for a toilet, shower, and campervan waste disposal facility in the West End Car Park, similar to the facility in the West Bay Car Park in Mallaig.
