Who we share your information with
We are legally obliged to safeguard public funds so we are required to verify and check your details internally for fraud prevention. We may share this information with other public bodies (and also receive information from these other bodies) for fraud checking purposes. We are also legally obliged to share certain data with other public bodies, such as HMRC and will do so where the law requires this.
We will also generally comply with requests for specific information from other regulatory and law enforcement bodies where this is necessary and appropriate. Your information is also analysed internally to help us improve our services. It also forms part of our requirements in line with our Records Management Plan approved in terms of the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011.
We will give information about you and your application to our employees and employees of Highland Council, Highland Councillors, who are members of the Board of Highland Opportunity (Investments) Limited, and agents on the understanding that they will keep your information confidential. We may pass your name and business address to other business support services operated by Highland Opportunity (Investments) Limited in order that they can write to you with relevant information about the services they provide.
We may liaise with officers of the Enterprise Company operating in the area of your business address to confirm grant assistance for the past three years and discuss aspects of your business proposal.
We will contact credit reference agencies or other organisations who may use or give out information for credit assessments, to trace debtors and prevent fraud. We may seek to publicise the business and the assistance provided by Highland Opportunity (Investments) Limited on The Highland Councils media channels.
