Road safety team consultations - C1119 CARRBRIDGE – MULLUCHARD – BALNAAN ROAD, CARRBRIDGE TRAFFIC CALMING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Highland Council, in terms of the powers contained in section 36, 37 and 39A of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 as amended, The Roads (Traffic Calming) (Scotland) Regulations 1994, The Road Humps (Scotland) Regulations 1998 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf propose to construct 3 road humps as well as 2 raised table junctions on the C1119 Carrbridge – Mulluchard – Balnaan Road in Carrbridge as follows:

• 35 metres or thereby east of centre line of the junction with the B9153, (Road Hump)

• 198 metres or thereby east of centre line of the junction with the B9153, (Road Hump)

• 15 metres or thereby east of the centre line of the junction with Rowan Park (Road Hump)

• 50 metres or thereby east of the centre of the U2171 Carr Place junction, (Raised Junction Table)

• 137 metres or thereby west of the centre of the U2171 Carr Place junction, (Raised Junction Table)

The proposed Road Humps are 75mm in height (max), 3500 mm in length, inclusive of 750mm long approach/departure ramps and fitted to surfaced road width at proposed locations to prevent water ponding.

Raised Table Junctions with uncontrolled pedestrian crossing will be located at the junctions 50 metres east and 137 metres west of the centre of the U2171 Carr Place junction.

This raised tables will be 75mm in height (max) across the carriageway kerb to kerb. It will consist of a raised section (75mm in height) spanning the full width of the side road bell mouth and full road width tapered ramps located on each road approach at 750mm long.
