THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL PROPOSE TO CONSTRUCT TWO CHICANES ON THE A862 RIVERFORD, CONON BRIDGE -
Description
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Highland Council, in terms of the powers contained in section 36 and 37 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 as amended, The Road Humps (Scotland) Regulations 1998 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf propose to construct two chicanes on Ardullie – Dingwall – Beauly – Inverness Road, A862, Conon Bridge as follows:
• Chicane on Ardullie – Dingwall – Beauly – Inverness Road, A862 at Conon Bridge located 120 metres or thereby northeast of the southern gable end of the property currently known as The Cruives.
The chicane is created by constructing two islands on the carriageway. The islands are 8.5m in length and 1.9 m wide reducing the carriageway width to 3.5 m kerb to kerb. The islands are placed 15 m apart creating an overall length of 32 m with a road width of 6 m through the chicane. Road signs and road markings will be installed as per the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. The priority is given to vehicles travelling from Conon Bridge village.
• Chicane on Ardullie – Dingwall – Beauly – Inverness Road, A862 at Conon Bridge located at the southern gable end of the property currently known as Eildon.
The chicane is created by constructing two islands on the carriageway. The islands are 8.5m in length and 1.9 m wide reducing the carriageway width to 3.7 m kerb to kerb. The islands are placed 15 m apart creating an overall length of 32 m with a road width of 6 m through the chicane. Road signs and road markings will be installed as per the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. The priority is given to vehicles travelling towards Conon Bridge village.
