The high route between Fort Augustus and Invermoriston will be closed until June 2024 to allow for the safe extraction of timber. Users are asked to follow the low route instead during this time.

  • The high route path between Fort Augustus and Invermoriston will be unvailable to the public as a through route for a perioid of several months over the winter and up to the summer of 2024. Essential forestry felling and extraction work will be ongoing on the slopes leading into Invermoriston and during this time, users of the Great Glen Way will be directed to follow the low route instead.
  • The work is expected to complete around June 2024
  • The high route can still be accessed from the south and followed for around 7km as an 'out and back'. Just aware that there is no through access at the north end.
  • We appologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of these works.
