1. Appointment of Chair

4. Role and Remit of Tourism Committee

There will be a presentation on the proposed role and remit of the Tourism Committee. 
  
5. Future Tourism Strategy

There is circulated Report No TC/01/20 dated 9 March 2020 by the Executive Chief Officer – Infrastructure and Environment.

The Committee is asked to note:-

i. current situation regarding the National Tourism Strategy; and
ii. proposals for strategies and destination plans that will identify tourism priorities in Highland. 
  
6. Transient Visitor Levy

There is circulated Report No TC/02/20 dated 9 March 2020 by the Executive Chief Officer – Infrastructure and Environment.

The Committee is asked to:-

i. note the current situation regarding the Council’s work related to the introduction of a Transient Visitor Levy in Highland; and
ii. consider how the Council might proactively engage with the Scottish Government to shape elements of the national approach to reflect the region’s needs and the responses received through the Council’s consultation. PP.4-7
  
7. Tourism Infrastructure

There is circulated Report No TC/03/20 dated 9 March 2020 by the Executive Chief Officer – Infrastructure and Environment.

The Committee is asked to note the:-

i. progress to date with the production of a Highland Tourism Infrastructure Plan;
ii. current situation with tourism infrastructure projects that are under way; and
iii. anticipated range of projects likely to form applications to the third round of the Scottish Government’s Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund.
