Prior to the start of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee meeting, there will be a Workshop for Members on the priorities for the new Economy and Infrastructure Committee. The Workshop will be held in the Council Chamber, Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness on Thursday, 6 February, 2020 at 10.30 a.m. 

Thereafter, a meeting of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee will take place in the Council Chamber, Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, on Thursday 6 February, 2020 at 11.30am.  Please note the later start time for the Committee meeting.

Webcast Notice: This meeting will be filmed and broadcast over the Internet on the Highland Council website and will be archived and available for viewing for 12 months thereafter.

5. Appointments to Sub Committees, Working Groups

The Committee is invited to approve the membership of the following Sub-Committees, Working Groups:-

i.  Stromeferry Working Group (9 Members)

It was recommended at the Stromeferry Working Group meeting on 13 December 2019 that, to ensure consistency, the membership of the Working Group continue unchanged as the Council moved forward with its new Committee Structure.

Proposed Membership – Mr A Henderson, Mr H Morrison, Ms T Robertson, Mr A Mackinnon, Mr M Reiss, Ms I Campbell, Dr I Cockburn, Mr A Macinnes, Mr D MacLeod

ii.  Education Transport Review Sub Committee (5 Members)

Proposed Membership – 5 Members of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee

The Groups have been asked for their nominations which will be tabled at the meeting.

iii. Harbours Management Board – (10 Members) 

It is proposed that the Board should meet twice a year.

Proposed Membership – Chair and Vice Chair of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee and 8 other Members of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee.

The Groups have been asked for their nominations which will be tabled at the meeting.

iv.  Town Centre Working Group – (12 Members)

Proposed Membership – 12 Members of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee.

v.  Highland Economic Forum – (1 Member)

6. Caithness & North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership - Presentation
Com-pàirteachas Ath-nuadhachaidh Ghallaibh & Chataibh a Tuath – Taisbeanadh

The Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership annual update provides an opportunity to consider the challenges and opportunities facing the economy of the north as it transitions from dependence on Dounreay. The presentation will be given by Mr Peter Facienda, CNSRP Programme Manager. Also in attendance will be Mr Iain Ross who Chairs the Executive Board of the partnership. 

The Committee are asked to note the presentation.

7. Off Street Car Parking Policy Update

The Committee are invited to consider the progress made towards implementation of the off-street car parking policy agreed at EDI Committee in October 2019.
