A meeting of the South Planning Applications Committee will take place in the Council Chamber, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, on Thursday, 23 June 2022 at 10.30 am.

You are invited to attend and a note of the business to be considered is attached.  

Webcast Notice: This meeting will be filmed and broadcast over the Internet on the Highland Council website and will be archived and available for viewing for 12 months thereafter.

Members are reminded that during determination of any item before this Committee they must be present throughout the whole of that item in order to be entitled to participate.

5.    Appointment of Members to the Planning Review Body / Cur Bhall an Dreuchd chun na Buidhne Ath-bhreithneachaidh Dealbhaidh

The Planning Review Body (PRB) comprises 6 Members, which includes the respective Chairs of the North and South Planning Applications Committees, who will act as Chair/Vice Chair of the PRB, and two further Members from each Planning Applications Committee.

The Committee is invited to nominate two Members to the PRB, noting that no Council Ward can have more than one Member on the PRB, and no first-time elected Members can be considered.

6.    Confirmation of Minutes / Dearbhadh a’ Gheàrr-chunntais

There are submitted for confirmation as a correct record the Minutes of Meeting of the South Planning Applications Committee held on 28 April 2022.

There is circulated Report No PLS/41/22 (Plans pp 1 - 11) by the Area Planning Manager - South, which provides a summary of all cases within the “Major” development category currently with the Planning and Development Service for determination.

The Committee is invited to note the decision of the Reporter appointed by the Scottish Ministers to allow the appeal and vary the terms of the planning permission by deleting condition 8 (Prior to the commencement of development, two passing places shall be provided by the developer and at their expense, on the U1758 Cabrich Road, to the satisfaction of the Planning Authority in consultation with the Roads Authority.  For the avoidance of doubt, the proposals shall be informed by the requirements set out in Section 5.3.6 of the Council's "Roads and Transport Guidelines for New Developments".  (Reason: In order to mitigate the impact of the development on the local road network, and in the interests of road safety.)
