The Lochaber Royal National Mòd Local Organising Committee launched the Loch Abar Mòd promotional leaflet at the Local Organising Committee (LOC) meeting earlier this week. The Local Committee are supported by the Highland Council Gaelic Team.

Officials from An Comunn Gàidhealach attended the meeting and gave a very informative presentation on the economic benefits of the National Mòd when it takes place in an area.

The LOC are currently fund raising to host the Mòd which officially opens on Friday 13th October.

The Mòd is set to bring £2.5 million to the local economy as visitors and competitors come to Loch Abar for the annual festival which is in its 125th year.

Ronald Cameron, Chairperson of the LOC said, “Staging the Mòd is a major team effort requiring a partnership approach which includes a huge amount of voluntary support. I would like to take this opportunity to thank individuals and business who have supported us, however it would be of huge benefit if we had additional support from the business sector in the area.”
