The Highland Council Wester Ross Countryside ranger has a couple of adventurous days coming up in June for people to enjoy.

The first, to take place on Monday 12 June, is a combination of a walk and boat trip to Tanera Mor, one of the Summer Isles. From 10:30am until 4pm, participants will get the chance to take in the wildlife, history and views of this picturesque island and the surrounding area with a visit to the island’s café too. The day costs £30 and includes the boat trip, a drink in the café and a guided walk around the island.

Towards the end of the month, on Wednesday 28 June, there will be another guided walk in the ‘Brilliant Bothies’ series. This one will see Ranger Jenny Grant lead participants on a long circular walk covering the remote and wild ground of Fisherfield.  A lunch stop will take place en-route at a bothy maintained by the Mountain Bothy Association. The guided walk will costs £9.00 or £5.00 for concessions.

Anyone interested in joining the Rangers for these adventure days should book their place as soon as possible as spaces are limited. The meeting place for both events will be given out at the time of booking. For more information, please call or email Jenny on 01854 613904 or jenny.grant@highland.gov.uk
