Extension to the Proposed West Highland and Islands Local Development Plan Consultation (WestPlan)

Highland Council has announced that is allowing more time for people in the West Highland and Islands area to have their say on future development in their community.

The Council is in the process of preparing a new Local Development Plan for the West Highland and Islands area which will guide future development for the next 10 to 20 years.

The Proposed Plan was published for consultation on 5 May, and the deadline for comments is now being extended from 30 June to 21 July 2017.

The extended consultation allows additional time to consider content relating to Morar and Invergarry, which was omitted from the initial version, and for other interested parties to consider the content of the Plan.

The extended deadline also applies to the Proposed Environmental Report and the Proposed Action Programme which accompany the Plan.

Anyone with an interest in the future of the area is encouraged to have their say.  All documents can be accessed through our consultation portal at http://consult.highland.gov.uk

Comments must be received by 12 noon on 21 July 2017.
