Council confirms Corran Ferry is back up and running

The Highland Council is pleased to report that at 12.30pm today (Thursday 20 July) the Corran Ferry fully resumed its foot passenger and car service.

The service has been suspended since a fault developed on Saturday.

A specialist steering engineer arrived on site late yesterday and identified a fault with a valve which he was able to repair this morning.

An underwater survey carried out yesterday revealed only minimal damage to the hull and very slight damage to one of the propeller blades.

Technical advice has since been sought and the slight damage does not pose any significant risk to the normal operation of the propeller, the service resumed at 12:30 today following sea trials.
