Enquiries ongoing in Westhill after incident involving child - Inverness

Police in Inverness have been carrying out enquiries in the Westhill area after a report that a 10-year-old boy was grabbed on the arm by an adult.

The incident was reported to have happened in the Myrtletown Park area at about 6.25pm on Tuesday, August 15.

Officers have been carrying out extensive house to house enquiries in the area today to establish the circumstances.

Inspector Alasdair Macleod said: "Investigations are ongoing into this incident and Police Scotland wish to reassure local residents that there is no evidence to suggest that there was any attempt to abduct the child, nor to suggest there was more than one adult or a vehicle involved.

"Officers will be visible in the area carrying out further enquiries.

"If any member of the public has information about this incident they are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference NN20751/17 or Crimestoppers."
