Easter Ross Community Partnership Meeting

ISSUED ON BEHALF OF - Easter Ross Community Partnership

The Easter Ross Community Partnership will meet in public at the Mercat Centre in Milton on Wednesday 4th October 2017 at 6 pm.  This will be its fifth such meeting and completes the cycle of having held them in each of the five communities identified for Locality Plans – namely Invergordon, Alness, Tain, Balintore and now Milton & Kildary.

There will be updates on the plan for services to children, the plan for services to adults and the first of the Locality Plans, for the Seaboard villages.

The Partnership’s Chair, Mark Loynd of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said,

“The Partnership will be considering its ongoing engagement with the Balintore and wider Seaboard community.  We have had very useful discussions with representatives from key local groups including the Balintore Residents group, Job Club and Seaboard Cares.

"The Partnership is currently circulating and supporting the completion of a Place Standard survey which we are using to identify what life is like for residents of the Seaboard villages.  What are the benefits and what are the challenges?  What works well and what needs to be changed?  What are people’s priorities for change and what actions could be taken to achieve them?

"This is a wonderful opportunity for local people to influence future services in their area.  The more detail we get from the community, the better informed we will be in developing local initiatives that will really tackle inequalities in the Seaboard villages.  What we are learning will also help us as we move on to prepare Locality Plans for other communities.”

Mark added: “First on the agenda is a presentation by Susan Devenport from CALA (the Care and Learning Alliance).  “CALA is the largest third sector early learning and childcare organisation serving Highland and Moray and we’re looking forward to welcoming Susan to hear more about the great work they do.”

The Seaboard – Place Standard survey can be completed online at:

Paper copies are available from the Balintore Pharmacy and Seaboard Memorial Hall.

The Mercat Centre will be open from 5:30 pm with refreshments available.
